I am trying to decide between these two TQ's and am wondering if anyone has any advice as to how much width matters on a quilt in terms of keeping the quilt wrapped around you and bunched under your sides at night.

I have the Hudson and love it. I also use it for an underquilt sometimes. By far though, it gets used as a topquilt the most. It is just a little narrow, but I put up with it so I have the versatility.
I have an Owyhee TQ, and its the same width as the hudson around the upper 2/3rds. 5'10" and 245lbs so I'm not exactly small, and the TQ covers me perfectly. Based on my research it seemed a little narrow as far as TQs go. I don't know if I would ever use it as an UQ but I can see how that could be helpful. I might just plop down the extra $$ for the extra comfort. Thanks to both of you!
I love my Hudson River and use it often. It has never let me down.
