I was checking the weather here in Central California on Accuweather.com and they had it on the top trending stories.
As I watched it, I told my wife. "I think this guy is on HF."

    Good schtuff!

Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I actually did talk about my hammock in the interview and I had a couple of really awesome jokes, but editing got rid of them. :'(

I was worried for you just watching lol

What would your dog have done and I wonder how that might have changed the situation.

Tala would have howled and would have wanted to sniff the lion. She's a super friendly dog and just wants to take two seconds to sniff whatever is there and after that she doesn't care about anything else but walking. lol
I'm very happy she wasn't with me though.

Stumbled on your vid (another source) today and told the bride "Hey that's Fronkey". Gotta ask, did you feel a bit like a mouse staring down a big old barn cat?

Very cool encounter. But the title is misleading as I didn't see any sort of stand off between the mt. lion and you. The lion obviously knew you were there but seemed very indifferent to your presence. That is pretty much what I've encountered with black bears also. But thanks for sharing with us. I always enjoy watching the large critters in their own habitat.

Haha That's awesome. It actually took awhile before it processed what was going on and not until about 20 minutes later that it hit me. Honestly though, I was extremely paranoid hiking for the next couple of days. lol

I crapped myself watching that... I have seen bear on the trail and heard a Mountain lion at Philmont.. but never that close.
I'm off to change my undies right now.
    Thanks for the video.. awesome.
