It's under an hour from Dallas. If you keep the hike short you could leave after work Friday a be home before anyone wakes up. Great for testing new gear/load outs. Tip: on quick trips pick up a steak and cook it over the fire on a cookie cooling rack. Just don't tell anyone. They will want to join you and you loose your hideout.
MoeT. Would any kind of vehicle be able to get there?
Edit: After looking into it it seem theres lot of places my vehicle could get to, but most of the trail is on roads. I'm not into that. Do you suggest a section thats particularly good?
