cuben fiber assym diamond tarp questions.

I am thinking about getting an assym diamond CF tarp, specifically one in camo by HG. I already have a CF standard with doors. Looking for this tarp to save space in pack and to have a tarp that pitches a bit quicker. for trips with slight chance of rain. Yes , I do enjoy collecting gear. Any input on those who have used one would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have one and really like it. I also have a HG standard with doors. The asym is about half the weight. I have an 11 footer and use it with my 11 foot hammocks with no problem (granted the structural ridge line makes the hammocks actually less than 11' when hung). Folks are paranoid about coverage when most of the time it is not an issue unless you are hanging in a monsoon. If I am forced to execute a planned trip when I know the weather will be treacherous then I go with my standard. Any other time I feel comfortable with the asym. Hope this helps. G-Nut.
