Since you're in Asheville, Shug, might I suggest a stop at the Tupelo Honey Cafe in the morning for breakfast? Don't miss the blackened catfish and goat cheese grits! To die for!! Best food in town, IMO! Drive safe!

Thanks for the video Shug. I am heartsick I could not be there.
Interestingly enough I did a backpack this weekend on the Mogollon Rim near Sedona and it was colder here in Arizona than it was in MN! Got down to 25F.
Glad everyone had a great time. Maybe next year for me!

Another good place to catch in Asheville is the Early Girl Eatery. They serve all three meals there every day except Monday (just breakfast and lunch those days) and breakfast is available at any time on the menu. Another one of Asheville's hidden jewel restaurants.

We missed you Kurt. We got to hear some stories from Shug about your adventure in that area not too long ago. Would love to see u return for another one. Maybe another deep winter one! I am planning on finding some time to get up there in Jan/Feb to learn me some arctic hanging techniques from the pros.
Some thermometers had us at @22deg for the last couple of nights there.

I hate to burst your bubble Kurt, but we recorded a low of 22F on Friday night when we got the snow.
25F in Arizona. That just doesn't sound right! Although the only time I spent there was a June in Scottsdale. Hot! But it was a dry heat.
Edit - I'm a little slow on the keyboard!

ah, it pains me in a bittersweet way to see the video and all the great photos. I did want to be there in the worst way, but it was not in the cards. Glad so many turned out and had a great time. I just have to enjoy it vicariously.
one of these times, one of these times...
