Bad choices, lost friends, AND NEW HAMMOCK!

A few days later I heard a horrifying sound "WHAT DID YOU ORDER FROM RIPSTOPBYTHEROLL THIS TIME!!"

I had mixed emotions. I was terrified and full of glee at the same time.

That's why I always ship stuff to work. I can chuck it in the gear closet and one day a month or so later I can pull it out and start working on it. "What's that?"

The difference is I wasn't actually trying to deceive my wife.

I did pull that one with dad when I was a kid. Mom would buy me something saying "don't tell dad." I would keep it hidden for a while, but eventually he would see it and i would say "I've had this for weeks."

As promised here are some pics of BlackBean where she belongs.


The amazing sunset after wind, torrential downpour, thunder/lighting and hail. This was BlackBeans first set up in the wild and she held me warm and dry like a champ! It was also the first real world test of my 1.1 DIY tarp with DIY sil treatment. And my DIY climashield TQ and UQ. It all held up great!

My buddy set up his tent in what turned into a puddle. He ended up standing under my tarp shivering while I hung dry and warm.

And breakfast in the hammock morning of day three. Some sort of apple cake and powdered orange drink from the MRE I had for supper the night before.
