Figured it was time to get off the ground and I managed to find a Hammock that was tough enough to handle me.

..... So I guess I'll give this Hammock thing a try.

I spent one night in it so far at Pinery Provincial Park and it went well. It took me most of the night to figure out how to get comfortable and relax my fears of rig failure, but I think I'm sold. One more night next week at Wheatly Provincial park before I try it out on the la cloche silhouette trail loop at Killarney Provincial Park at the end of the month.

I had planed to bring my ground pad and Bivy as an emergency back up, but if next week goes well enough I may have the guts to leave them at home.

Welcome from another Ontario hanger. You should definitely consider the Michigan hang this fall. It hasn't been posted yet but it's a great bunch of hangers and a great time will be had guaranteed.

If I'm being honest, my first time trying to get in I went straight over the other side to the ground. Thankfully no one was around to see how graceful it was. I did it a second time once I got the dragonfly net on and looked even more ridiculous trapped inside the net underneath the hammock. lol

I lived in Cambridge and Guelph as a kid and spent plenty of time in Kitchener-Waterloo. Always a good time there. I'm about 3 hours away from Waterloo now. Right on the border of Detroit in Windsor.

Brings back fine memories. I grew up just west of Detroit and my very first camping trip was in the Pinery. Beautiful place.

The Pinery is a Nice Park. Lots of car campers and partiers, but a decent and relaxed place to try out gear.
