Since I missed the ButtBake, this will be my inaugural event. Sharon and I are in. Sent the PM for Site 8 or 9. I am an antisocial SOB, and she'll use a ground tent so we may not share a site unless it becomes necessary.

Glad you can join us! We do not discriminate.
We take antisocial as well as social SOBs.

You may have already gotten with oldgringo, but if not, PM him for pmt instructions. That's the step before requesting a site.

Nothing at all wrong with keeping the numbers down to your party at your site. Please look at the capacity levels on the map Rat has posted.

1,5,16, or 19 would be better suited to your plans. 8 & 9 are higher capacity sites and better suited for folks willing to share space.

It's exciting to see how this event has grown from the 2 dozen folks who came when we first started in 2009 to well over a hundred last year. With lots of new folks joining it makes sense that questions arise. Hopefully most of them were addressed in our Frequently Asked Questions posts but that doesn't always cover everything.

Here is some of the thought behind this year's reservation plan that hopefully will make some sense.

A part of the reason that the entire loop has been booked is so that we can have an easier time making sure everyone has a space to hang. Sometimes that means blurring the lines between site numbers.

If anyone really wants a site by one's self there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. For some folks that will mean one of the sites that are indicated on Rat's map as low capacity. For others that might mean getting one of the sites in an adjoining loop where one can have the entire place solo.

For many of the folks who have been to this event before, the actual site is really more of a "bedroom and kichen". The "living room" tends to be community sites; sites that have campfires open to all; and the open area around the amphitheater.

Among the goals of this group hang is for friends to reunite, folks to meet others, show and tell about gear, eat well, and learn a thing or two.

Having fun in the process is important too.

"Check is in the mail", bet you never heard that before. I never even looked at the site capacity, just the proximity to the outhouse. Thanks for keeping me straight.

Capacity does have multiple meanings depending on priorities.

Again, glad to have you with us.
