Hey Campers! We'll be in the woods this time in 4 weeks so the countdown is on!

One of the things that we experience on an annual basis, and this year is no exception, is concern about weather. We have had very dry conditions for some time and so this year, just like 5 of our previous 6 years, there is a burn ban in the area where we will be. It seems that each year there have been sufficient October rainfalls to lift the bans in the past and I am optimistic that will be the case again this year. Just in case though, for those inclined to pray for rain, now would be a good time to start that. For those not so inclined, consider this a request for appropriate rain dances.

I will be monitoring both county and park conditions as the hang approaches and will post updates here as they are available as well as what fire use is allowed depending on ban status or lack thereof. That way, hopefully we can keep from having 100 calls to the park or county and we'll all be on the same page.

In checking out the planning spreadsheet, I see that there's plenty of interest in the activities we have done in the past, Edibles Hike and the workshops on Knots, Splicing, and Survival Bracelet Construction.

I'll bring some reflectix and tape for those interested in constructing cozies.

We'll have a drawing for prizes after the Saturday night Pot Luck dinner. (That gear item in your closet gathering dust may be just what someone else would treasure so, yes, donations for the free prize drawing are most welcomed.)

What else do we need to discuss?

Hello, everyone I plan on joining in on the festivities this year. I haven't been able to make it the past few years to conflicting schedules.

I found someone to share a site.

    thanks everyone for the help.

I find myself forced to relinquish my part in the Fairfield Lake State Park excursion, I have other more pressing requirements such as maintaining a GPA of greater than 3.75, and sadly must opt out of participation.

I had planned on bringing 5-gallons of M1 Methanol, and might still be able to arrange transportation if another hanger would be willing to transport an unopened factory container of VP Racing Fuel M1 Methanol to the hang.

The cost to me is $39-dollars plus tax, so if I can get a commitment of a PayPay reimbursement of $40-dollars, and a volunteer to transport the unopened container, I will be happy to provide that.

Contact management for my paid for site, no need to reimbursement, that might be my gift to a late comer. Who knows?

I wish everyone a great trip and hang, I have one nagging class where my average is hovering at 91.5 and that has got me bent sideways.

For those who have been doing rain dances to end the burn bans, you can take a breather and for those of us praying for rain, time to shift to prayers for safety.

Dang it guys. Now I want soup. But I'm too lazy right now to get out of bed to go get supplies to make it!
