Different fabrics for a DL hammock?

I'm thinking of making a double layer hammock using 1.9 nylon on the outside and 1.6 on the inside. Is there any issue with this? Will the difference in stretchiness affect the performance of either of the fabrics?

Structurally, there's definitely a difference. That doesn't mean the hammock is doomed to failure though. It's just inefficient from a total weight perspective, because the heavier fabric is going to do 90% of the lifting.
Ask yourself the following questions and select the best answer for you

Is that extra ounce, over having a double layer of the same fabrics, important to you?

Are you using an inside layer for its next-to-skin comfort that you like, while the outside layer is selected for the support?

I was only trying to do it from an aesthetic side, I want a 1.9 pattern on the outside, and the diamond weave ripstop on the inside. Just thought it might bring some uniqueness to it.

Nothing wrong with that. Just pick the stronger layer such that you would be comfortable using it as a single, but without any factor of safety. The second layer will provide the safety factor.

Yes. The hammock will only be as stretchy as the least stretchy fabric - probably a bit less, because the other fabric takes some weight as well. In your case, the less stretchy fabric is probably the 1.9oz fabric. If you want your hammock to be more stretchy, you need to factor that in.
