    Bright colored tree straps

Am I the only one who has issues with this? I use black non-tubular webbing in either 3/4 or 1 inch for tree straps, as I suppose many do. When I tear down my setup, I have to pay attention to remember to remove my tree straps from the trees. Being black, they don't catch my eye always - even with a bright colored carabiner hanging on the end of them. I tend to unclip my hammock, then get busy and distracted packing it away. There have been several times when I almost hiked away from my straps, and (I'll go ahead and confess it). Somewhere up on the north side of the Grand Canyon is a pair of trees with a couple of my straps and carabiners. So I am keeping my eye out for bright colored non-tubular webbing. And, I am considering sewing a bit of red ripstop as a band near the ends of my straps as an eye catcher.

Of course this could also be a sign of a declining memory or something of that sort, but that is too far-fetched to receive serious consideration.

Make it a point to take down the tree strap when I undo the hammock from it. Slip the hammock suspension over shoulder and grab the tree strap. And always ask if others got their straps as it makes you check for yours. Just good hammock discipline.

Yep, I do similar. Been using camo or black straps for a few years now and I haven't forgotten one yet..........Knock on wood.......

I always work from one end to the other and make sure that everything on one side is packed and ready to go before moving across to the other side.

When we go somewhere I always remind my kids and wife to check for wallets and phones. When we camp it changes to tree straps and trash. As in check the trees and ground for important stuff and trash that maybe we missed.

When I'm done packing up I walk to the trees I hung in and say out loud while scanning the tree, the ground and the other tree, "nothing in this tree, nothing on the ground, and nothing in the other tree." I've done it to the point that it's just habit to do it now, and I hope it will save me on the day I do leave a strap wrapped around the tree or some tarp stakes on the ground.
    Good luck,

Some people are forgetful when it comes time to pack up and move camps. If nothing else works there are tons of devices similar to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSzfn1V-crg#t=21 that can help. I bought something very similar for my father for his cell phone and keys lol.

I don't remove them from my hammock. I wrap the strap around the tree and use a carabiner to attach the strap to itself. I use cinch buckles which are always connected to my hammock and I don't pull the straps out of them.

Of course if you have a different setup, you may have to remove the straps from the hammock.
