I understand the weight issue for some folks, but I think for most people it's still lighter than a lot of tent setups and it's got to be a whole lot more comfortable than sleeping on the ground.

In the video it appears that one could use trees that are pretty close together to hang this. Is that the case or just camera angle trickery? Or did you mention that already and I missed it (always a possibility).
I am off to Finland, MN to test it some more. I do think that narrow tree spacing will not effect it. That is what I want to see.
Jonas has plans to do a longer and lighter version in time. They are really just getting off the ground with this more or less and they listen to their customers.

As a bushcrafter, I can appreciate the Skandinavian quality of that hammock but it looks over engineered, unnecessarily complex, and therefore heavy. Don't get me wrong, it looks fun and has lots of shiny bling to play with but it's a car camping item at best. The beauty of a normal gathered end hammock system, is the simplicity.

Well I may have thought the same until I tried it and kept messing with it. It is a totally different design so you have to give them that.
It is engineered for what it is designed to do in my opinion. I truly don't find it over-engineered. It may seem that way at first look though compared to a simple gathered end hammock. In time they may be able to strip it down some but it is fairly simple once you get to know it. It is on the heavy side. But the Recline feature is mighy fine. It is winning me over big time just for that. Some find the Warbonnet Blackbird XLCcomplex. So it is subjective.
Many think Clark hammocks are over-engineered as well but they do have their place in the hammock kingdom.
True to what you say on the simplicity of a gathered end hammock to most of us.
Taking the Draumr out into the woods tonight for more testing. I am keeping an open mind.

Thanks, Shug. I look forward to your report. Looks like you'll definitely be able to test it's rainworthiness (not a word, I'm sure) as it's headed towards the Arrowhead Region. Have a safe outing!

Great review Shug. I loved the little intro with the hammock descending from the sky and your rain test. What a great way to show that a new/innovative system really works. I enjoyed watching that!

Pretty cool. I've always liked the idea of this hammock, but your video answered some questions I had about it, and I like it even more now.

I got a motorcycle this year (why I've been so absent from the forums) and this would be great for bikepacking.

    Thanks for doing the video.
