    Is my hammock damaged?

I got my HyperD 1.0 hammock out of storage to treat it with permethrin in advance of a trip I'm taking soon. I noticed that in the area where I get into the hammock, there were some lines that didn't look right.

Sorry the pic is a little dark, but you can see one running more or less vertically and another running more or less horizontally. There are several of these. Any thoughts on the cause of this, and how likely it is that it's a serious problem?

Looks like something has caught and pulled one thread. If you've got a scrap left lying around pull a stray thread from a cut edge and straighten the fabric back out... Looks like that. Do you wear a metal watch or ring, bracelet etc. that could've caught while packing?
I'm not 100% sure but I think you should be ok with that, definitely keep an eye on it though.

Yup, looks snagged to me. Jewelry, maybe met something rough when drying like tree leaves, twigs? If you mixed the fabric and promethium in a bucket you could have had a rough place or even rough fingernails.

Try playing with the snags, gently pull everything back into shape, then check the hammock every once in a while.

I've seen this on some underquilta I've made of 1.1. Most definitely a snag. I usually just give a tug in all directions and it straightens back out well enough that it is not visible. I dont think it weakens the integrity of your hammock at all.
