I just sold my Heresy Hammock and SS, so I have no need for my Nested MacKAQ.
Nested MacKAQ is SOLD!
- Original KAQ Potomac in Camo made by Patrick McKenna (inventor of the KAQ) for Grizz, who sold it to me; excellent condition
- Thermadrape KAQ with DWR Camo shell, Thermadrape insulation, and a soft, Navy blue, nylon mesh inner lining; made by Dave Canavan, a professional canvas stitcher, using Patrick McKenna's patterns and directions, as well as my help
- Large Wal-Mart compression stuff sack with heavy duty plastic bag liner
Each underquilt has its own suspension. The Thermadrape KAQ is good to temperatures in the upper 40s. As an option, it nests inside the KAQ to give you a vapor barrier and a bit of extra insulation, so that the combination is good to well below freezing, depending on what you have on top. I've used the two together at 16*F and was toasty!
Tip: I have used the Nested MacKAQ with the Hennessey SuperShelter! There are several ways to configure it, but the simplest is to put the MacKAQ outside the SS.
