    Introduce Yourself Right On

Kroma here from Fort Worth Texas area. Found this site because of Shug's videos. I'm new to the hammock scene, I've spent exactly 1 night in a hammock. It was a less than pleasurable experience. I'm hoping I can get steered in the right direction on this site. I don't want to give up on it just because of one bad experience, but I guess time will tell. I will post my report in the appropriate sub-forum. Looking forward to participating in the community!

    welcome to the madness

recommend you find a group hang and attend it, even if you only visit. you will have a chance to check out lots of different setups and ask the folks why and how they use what they do and or what they would do different. Take your gear and the folks at the hang will help you fine tune your rig.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Welcome. I, too, recently joined because of Shug's videos. He's like the gateway drug to hammocks...

My experience is still pretty limited. Only a handful of nights in a hammock thus far. The only time I was uncomfortable was when I had too much sag in my hammock. Other than that night, I have found hammocks to be immensely more comfortable than the ground. Don't give up! You'll find your perfect hang and then you'll be hooked!
