I was lucky enough to get mine together with 2x2s after a hard search for decent lumber, and really enjoy it. However, I think I will purchase this conversion kit so I can use my stands indoors this winter. The rubber feet are a great add on.

The rubber feet was one of the top items on our list when designing the new stand. Nobody wants raw conduit on hardwood floors - that's just not a good way to keep your house nice! 2x2's are great, strong, and inexpensive but ultimately it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack when you're looking for one that's free of cracks, knots, and is straight.

Got mine the other day . . . popped down to Home Depot and picked up (6) 1" EMT cut down to 7 feet each. They fit perfectly . . . everything fit perfectly. No knots, no bows- those are for shoe strings! Looks 10 time better as a finished product. Good Job Tato !

FYI: when they use a pipe cutter with a rotating wheel, it kind of turns the "cut end" in and makes it too narrow for the hard plugs to be inserted . . . so dremel time and a pain or I just use those as the ends that get stuck in the rubber feet. I'll be using the rubber feet both outside on the ground and on smooth surfaces. If you tear 'em up, they have them at just about any hardware store!

Tato Gear Hammock Stand Conversion is good to go! (PICS)

Take my new gear on an over-nighter at Standing Stone State Park (North of Cookeville, TN.)

I use 7 foot legs and the cross-pole is 13 feet split into two sections. Poles are so much better than the wood option and they look great!
