    Camp Sites near Northern KY

    Hello,

I was hoping somebody could help me find some camp sites around Northern KY where I can spend a day backpacking and be back before I have to pick my kids up on Sunday.

No camp sites, but I spent a lot of time in this park when I lived in Burlington, KY. Middle Creek Park
I've spent a few nights out there, but it's probably frowned upon.

I think Big Bone Lick has a campground, but for primitive sites you might have to head out to the red river gorge.

That's what I was afraid of. I'm looking for somewhere that I can get away from "camp sites" and hang in the woods without having to travel several hours.

You could try Eastfork state park in Ohio just to the east of 275 or Ceasar creek state park northeast of Cincinnati. Both have backpacking loops.

Are you allowed to hammock camp off the trails? I've hung in the campsite before and rode my bike on the mountain bike trails during the day.
