    Looking in to underquilt protection

I'm looking to maybe get an UQP, but I am completely lost on what to get and who makes them. Currently, I have 20F TQ and UQ. My UQ is the HG Incubator 20.

Also, I can't decide if I should get breathable or not. From working outside alot, I am familiar with some of the pros and cons of breathable and non-breathable fabrics and for ths application am leaning toward non-breathable.

I have hung in the upper 20's on 2 occasions. Once was a little breezy and the other was not and I was a little cold on the breezy night. I wasn't misserable and still slept, but I wished I was a little warmer and think a UQP would have helped.

I know this may start a knife fight..lol, but what are some recommendations and maybe some why's? maybe some comparisons from your experience would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I have a breathable 2QZQ Hammock Specialties UQP and love it. I didn't want the potential condensation, but the protection and cut in the breeze is great.

I am also considering one since my DIY tarp doors project ended in disaster. Following.

I also have one of the 2QZQ Grizz Beaks that works wonders when I need a tarp door. Together they keep the wind and rain out and everything else clean.

I also have a 2QZQ breathable UQP and am very happy with it. I don't hang in the brutal cold very often but didn't want to take the chance of condensation issues when/if I do. It is cheap insurance to me.

I would recommend you talk to 2QZQ and they can steer you in the right direction for your fabric. They make a great UQP.

Here in Florida, we get some wicked and wet fog rolling in and can get very wet on a cloudless night. This past year at the Annual Florida Hang, there were a lot of hangers with wet quilts, hammocks, under the tarp, and such from a fog so thick you couldn't see your hand in front of you.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

You can see a wee review on mine at 5:50 in this video........https://youtu.be/tMCci1VQ_iE
Mine is breathable ripstop from 2QZQ. I use it often especially when I know it will be cold and windy.

I made one for both the missus and I. Designed after 2QZQs product and made out of breathable ripstop nylon. Love them and always deploy regardless of weather because they are so light and easy.

I just ordered a breathable (argon) one from 2qzq and don't have it yet so this is just my thinking. Shouldn't leaving a small air gap between the uqp and uq prevent most, if not all, splash and sideways rain from getting to the uq? Seems like breathable is the way to go. Not sure if the fog scenario mentioned above could be avoided with a breathable material though.
