First Hang Report, Sipsey Oct. 23-25

A group went to the Sipsey this weekend and I took my HH Expedition for the first time. It sure was nice. Friday night went down to the 40s and Sat. night got down in the 30s. I used my Speer SleepPad and it was great, even in the 30s combined with my Sierra Designs Arrow Rock 15* Down Bag (first use also). My toes did get cold though. And it only took me 5mins to get situated in my bag on top of the pad Over all I am hooked, but I think I may the EXPLORER ULTRALITE. I am about 6'1"@210.

PS: How high is the bug nut suppose to be above your head? It seemed the "ceiling" was low, but the ridge line was tight.

We parked at the Thompson Creek Trail Head. Hiked trail 206 a bit and then followed White Oak Hollow to trail 224. Once on trail 224 we will merge on trail 204. Then finish hiking trail 204 until we meet trail 206 again. It was pretty comfortable Friday night (high 40s) and got a little chilly Saturday night (mid 30s).

Thanks for sharing. What part of the Sipsey were you in?

Like Peg-Leg I would like to know where you went in the Sipsey? Next question, are you planning on making the hike/hang next weekend?

Oh yeah, nice first trip report and thanks for sharing!

I don't mind a tent. I just recently bought a Marmot Limelight2 Tent for when I don't take the hammock.
