2015 Hoosier Halloween Hang planning thread

Without further ado, This year's hang will held on Nov 7 in Deam wilderness inside Hoosier National Forest @ the Cresent valley 2 campsite (directions below).

There will be a raffle of some sort Saturday evening before dark. If possible please bring item ($5-$25 or equivalent value if DIY) to place in the raffle. This is not a requirement and will not disqualify anyone from partaking.

Meals are usually fend for your self but it's always fun for people to carry in whatever they like to share.

This is an all ages, creeds and prerogatives event. Heck even tenters are tolerated! However, please do keep in mind it tends to get rowdy around the campfire once libations have taken effect.

Thanks for allowing me to start things off. The Mrs. HomeMadeHiker and I a very excited for this year's hang!


The Trailhead is at the tower on Tower Road. Get there by taking 446 South from the east side of Bloomington. Crescent Valley is not on any trail but has to be bushwhacked to, about a 10 or 15 minute cross country walk up a draw. The exact instructions will be posted as we get closer to the weekend, but the valley lies inside the loop that forms the Sycamore Branch trail. Basically, take the Sycamore Branch going CCW. Hike to the sign that says Camp 2. Here you leave the main trail and head North up the draw following the general path of the creek.

Actually, you take 446 and not 135 south from the east side of Bloomington.

They're correct, but your GPS may like another format better. For example, 39.0389 -86.302167 for the first one (instead of N 39 02.334 W 086 18.130)
