Trial period for blogs on Hammock Forums

We have received some feedback asking for blogs on Hammock Forums.
Blags have been a part of the web site but we have kept them turned off in the past.
We have decided to open it of a 30 day trial period.
Please feel free to try them out.
You will see a TAB shortly in the navigation bar.
We the Admins and Mods are not real proficient with using these blogs because we have never really taken the time to try them out. We will try our best to answer questions but those that are familiar with them may want to jump in and help others out that have questions that may arise.

Created a blog and commented some questions and observations on that blog. Can you see it? Can you comment?

Curious if a comment is added to a blog I created, am I notified through subscribed threads or is there is new subscribed blogs?

Someone comment so I can see it.

I can't see yours and I assume you can't see mine. Must be a permissions thing.

Check it again. I went into blog settings and change permissions, etc allowing friends and others to see and comment.

I clicked on "moderate comments before displaying." May as well give the moderators something to do!

I can see your now but viewer comments are turned off. I can't comment. But if that's what you want, that is an option!

Observation and comment by Jwright on my blog...if a great topic is posted, it will not be found in the HF topic forums for that subject. Members will have to search threads and now also search blogs. Or, post may be made referring people to their blog for a topic. I guess similar to a link to a YouTube video.

It appears through settings, a blog can be:

A private journal
A blog for only your contacts to see
A blog only members can see
A blog anyone can see

And you can choose to allow comments to each of those groups or give permission to nobody. So you can just blab, blab, blab. Or your can allow those comments but require all comments be moderated and approved first if you choose.

I turned off the "moderate comments" feature.

You still need to "allow comments" and pick who can comment. The option is not there for me to comment yet.
