Best Bug Net Idea for one of Dutch's Hammocks?

In 3 weeks I will be thru-hiking the 80 mile Standing Stone Trail that is right here in my beautiful part of Pennsylvania. I am wondering, however, if a Fronkey-Style bugnet is my best bug-net solution. I could take my Hennessy Ultralite Explorer (which has been modified with a better suspension, tarp, etc), but the Dutch Hammock I would think would keep my weight even lower. I was thinking of being a ground dweller as that will make my pack the lightest, but I'd much rather have the ultimate comfort that only hanging from the trees can provide. What do you all think of the Fronkey-Style bug-net?

    Thanks a million,

    Jifigz

I use a Fronkey-style bug net, and I have had many great bug free nights here in Michigan.

Fronkies sheer bug net is great. It tends to restrict the air flow noticeable though. The next one will be made with the nano-see-um netting. It is lighter weight and is supposed to allow more air movement. If you are getting one of Dutch's hammocks (good choice) I would recommend getting his Fronky style bug net at the same time (11' model). It is a universal fit so will work with most other hammocks. You will be a happy comfortable thru-hiker. You may want to treat with permeathrin (sic).?

I already have one of Dutch's hammocks. I just need some bug protection or to take my Hennessy. Or possibly my 6 Moon Designs Lunar Solo and Neoair Trekker.

80 miles? I'd take my lightest 11' options

Dunno... but the bugsez is already tapering off up here in south-western Maine along the New Hampster border. Even down your way I would think they would be just about gone in three more weeks.
I camped on an island in a lake up here two weeks ago and only heard couple of 'skeeters all night.... 'course next morning my buddy was gone with no trace, but....

I like the Fronkey-style bugnet. I have a couple of BIAS Buginators and a Nano-Buginator.

I use my fronkey in all sorts of bug conditions, and never had a problem. Mines actually a shorty in height. It cinches up snug around my UQ. No bugs get through.

On my wife's I made a standard fronkey and she's had no issues. Only problem she had was when it was touching the ground and some spiders climbed in... She was not a fan.

    I also have a BIAS Nano-buginator. It's fantastic with my 11' hammocks.
