    Advice converting HH suspension

I have a pre 2014 HH Expedition with the standard rope suspension. I want to change the suspension to cinch buckles and strap. The end of the Expedition does not have a lump of fabric like on a Warbonnet BB. What holds the chain link to the hammock? I've been told to put several larks head knots in the chain link but without a lump of fabric will this hold? Can someone who has done this comment on how to do it and does it work?

I've converted a couple of Hennessy hammocks to other suspensions, not that one specifically. But what I have found is that under that covering at the end of the hammock the hammock is already whipped and a hole is there that the current suspension line is run through and tied off. What I do is take that suspension off and run a continuous loop or dog bone through it and then over the end of the hammock larks headed back onto itself. I've done two Hennessy's this way and probably about to do a third soon. All have held up great over the years.

Not sure on the pre-14 version. I think that's the "new" compared to my rigs. The really old ones are whipped then a pair of holes are burned/melted through the whole stack of fabric. The newer ones I believe are whipped in a similar way but a short section of webbing is stitched to the whipped end that the ropes are then attached to. Snip the ziptie and pull back the cover to see what you've got. I'm sure you'll figure something out.

SGT Rock, Thanks for the quick and detailed reply. Sounds like it should be fairly simple to do. I can barely wait for the cinch buckle kit to arrive.

Piece of cake. Add a continuous loop to the buckles, attach like a whoopie sling (tutorials on youtube).

It was very easy to do to HH Expedition. I just lokked at a few videos and watched one where they put on whooopie sling, contin loop was the same.

If you want you can larks head the loop around the hammock end to test it. I've done it with no problems to test while deciding what I wanted to do. Sometimes i miss the old 1line for tarp and hammock ease...
