    11 ft. Netless Hammock

    Hey HF Nation,

Just wondering if any of you have tried Dutch's 11 ft. hammock? I have a WB Traveler that's 10 ft. and get a little of the leg bunching down on the end. I'm hoping the extra foot will alleviate that issue plus Dutch's price, weight of the hammock, accessory products(I have several accessories) and availability seem pretty tough to beat. Any feedback is VERY welcomed, thanks!

I have a dutch hexon 1.6... I'm six foot one and don't really think I would go lower than an 11 footer... I know quite a few that are even more comfortable in an 11.5 footer but that also can have an impact on tarp coverage . as far as price... 35 dollars with a free stuff sack is a good way to go. I would try the hexon material as it lays with little stretch, and feels softer than anything besides probably taffeta.

I use one of Dutch's 11' Hexon 2.4's and I'm also 6'1". I was previously using a 9.5 foot hammock and going to Dutch's was a huge upgrade in comfort for me.

I also wonder about tarp coverage with a long hammock. My tarp is a WL Tadpole, 132". Is that large enough for Dutch's 11-ft. hammock? It's not clear to me how the 11 feet is measured: is it end-to-end, or on the diagonal?

Also, what are the pros and cons of the structural ridgeline option? Is this option needed in order to hang a Fronkey style bugnet?

An 11 foot hammock will wind up being 110 inches afer you put on a ridgeline. I always suggest a ridgeline for anyone new. It sets the sag to the perfect length.

On the diagonal? That would be a novel way to measure a hammock.

As far as I know, you will need a ridgeline to use a Fronkey bugnet.

My 132" WL Big Daddy tarp works perfectly with my with my Dutch 11-ft hammock - there's extra tarp past both ends of the hammock.

I have the Dutch 11' argon hammock. I find the 58" width a little narrow for me. And I'm not a wide guy at all, just my feel for the lay compared to my other hammocks.

I have the 11' argon from Dutch also, and for me (5'8", 165) it's great. Packs down so tiny - not much bigger than a pop can - I put it in my Maxpedition Lunada pack and hang during my lunch break at work. With a ridge line I get a comfy, flat diagonal lay. The ridge is adjustable so I'm not sure exactly what length I have set.
