There ia a great chart showing how as you change the angle of your suspension, you change the force. I want to use it for training tomorrow morning. Can anyone link me?

Didn't even know that second one existed - saving that for future trainings! The calculator is awesome, but a handout is easy reference!

I took this chart to REI for them to use during their hammocking basics class. I thought it was a great visual illustration of how compounding forces work. They didn't use the chart or bring up how important hang angle is until I mentioned it at the end. I'm glad they had "experts" teaching the class!!
That looks like Youngblood's chart from the old Yahoo Hammock Group forum, which Smee might have known about. Smee is a fine hammock engineer himself, so it may be original with him, too. In any case I think it's more accurate than other visual aids I have seen.
You can't use it as a hand out, but click and drag the weight to see how the load changes with the angle... http://tagsafety.com/library6.aspx
Wow, Definitely puts it in perspective. Hard to wrap the mind around it, but this makes it easy and real.
