    Greetings from California

    Hello everybody...good to be aboard!
My wife and I have been using nylon net hammocks on camping trips to hang and relax in for close to 20 years. Recently we have found that sleeping in our tents is getting increasingly uncomfortable no matter what pad or air mattress we use. I think that we are just getting older (50 now) and sadly we can't take the "roughing-it" as much as we used too. We love to camp so we're looking into full sleeping hammocks with tarps because we just don't want to do the RV camper route at all!!! We're trying to learn some things and figure out what would work the best for us. I am short but have a 300+ pounds and my wife is slender and lightweight. There doesn't seem to be an issue finding one for her but it seems a little challenging to find the right system for me. We do like to camp in the summer, fall, and winter sometimes so that's a variety of temperatures. I've always been quite a do-it-yourselfer but I'm not sure that I have time to build some systems for us. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions would be helpful!

Welcome to the forums. You might look into a double layer hammock for you. There are some other big guys that hang, so I know there are systems out there. Maybe some of them will pipe up.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

Welcome to the site. Take some time and look at the cottage vendors, there are several that can take care of what you are looking for. There will be a learning curve going from recreational hanger to sleeping hanger, but one you find the spot, it is wonderful.
