    I'm back!!!

    Hi All,
It has been 'many moons' since my last post. I considered myself an active member of this forum (although not as active as some). Over the past several years much has happened. I have moved to a different state. My wife has passed away. My kids have grown some (as kids do). I have had and lost jobs. I started school (again). I have remarried and now we are expecting a another little "hammock hanger" in the family sometime in January.

Through all of this, I have always loved hanging and DIY, just haven't had much time for it.
I love this forum, the people and the information that can be found here. I am looking forward to becoming more active in the forum and the outdoors.

I know there is a section for Hangouts and Get-Togethers, but I am curious if there are some other "hangers" in the Utah area? Not many trees in some places, but I would like to hear from others in the Northern Utah area (SL and UT counties) and some of your favorite hangs.

    Thanks!
    CJR

Welcome back to the forums from a fellow Utah hanger. There are plenty of great places to hang in Utah. My favorite backpacking trips are typically in the Uinta Mountain range but there are closer trips all along the Wasatch Front. The Cottonwood Canyons (little and big) have some great hikes/hang spots. On occasion I do find myself in a desert area without a lot of trees and that's why I built a Turtle Dog Stand.

Welcome. If you ever come father north in the Bear River/Cache area there is some great camping and hiking here too.

Agreed, there are some great spots in Cache Valley and up Logan Canyon. If you are willing to travel a little there are also TONS of places in the Manti-La Sal national forest.
