Whew. Month 28 was cold and windy. One night at a new site and the wind sounded like a freight train all night.

Hobo Off The Ground All Year Round: 8 7
consecutive months since the start, 9/2015 through 11/2022
#28 last weekend. We had a great time in the little snow we got and cold weather. It was 12°F and a clear night.
We got to camp and found lots of tracks in the fresh snow. A few rabbits, squirrels, and an adult cougar. The cat track is about 3 1/2"-4" round and the walking stride was about 20" apart.
Many more tracks in the morning. They live among us...

“An optimist is a man who plants two acorns and buys a hammock.” ― Jean de Lattre de Tassigny
This is a great principle. I decided to do this after I got back from a long trip that included lots of camping. It's important to keep it in mind. I'll suddenly realize it's been three months since I camped, then I'll splurge. Just the other night I got out of bed and decided to drive up into the mountains to see the Geminid Meteor shower. I saw less than ten meteors, kept nodding off and crawled into my sleeping bag. Wonderful.
One thing I realized a long time ago that helps this: just go solo. We all know all the 'reasons' people have for not doing fun things. I used to tell my students the secret to living like a millionaire is, you don't need a million dollars. The secret to travel is avoid hotels, learn to sleep anywhere, ways that don't require reservations are usually less expensive and a lot more fun. We are essentially stone aged nomads. Oh, and figure out how to sleep outside in minus 10 degree weather--after that it's all good.
I think us retired gits should make it two nights a month.
Just got back from #28! Another snowy weekend in the woods of northern Michigan. Finally got to get some miles on the pulk!
My daughter and I are sleeping out back tonight in the snow! Got a couple inches, half of which was while I was setting up our hammocks. Then it got dark. Had to wear my headlamp to do my side pullouts. Should be a nice couple nights sleeping outside! Pictures tomorrow.

I have a friend who I think has a decal cutter. I'll have to see if he still has it. And ask if it's ok to use the logo.
