Enjoyed #30 last weekend. Had a good trip, quick overnighter. Low temp 9°F with high humidity made for a frosty night.

30th month completed at Peewee Hollow in West Salem. Rain, high winds and some great folks.

There was a nice pavilion, so we didn't need to huddle under out tarps!

Saturday afternoon the rain broke long enough to get the fire going and cook some taters!

High winds brought down a few trees that had to be dealt with....

#30 is on the books after the 4 day Green Timbers Big Tree Hang this past weekend. I got to test out a SLD Trail Lair with prototype winter cover the first night, then moved back into my Voyageur. Even better was the fact that I had a new prototype hot tent from SLD to hang out in all weekend! Unfortunately, it won't be coming onto the market, but this one has a new home in my gear closet. I'll probably do a review on it in the future. Life is good!

Completed my 12th month in a row last evening -- 30+ nights during the past year. Not a huge number, but fairly consistent at 2-3 nights each month.s+1QcQ4DST6mNyvLz4GbMw.jpg

Number 31 in the bag. Probably the last cold hang of the season.

This is getting sorta annoying. Does anyone have a good way to deal with this rotated image issue? My image software shows them in the correct orientation, but the board often does see it the same! It would be great if the advanced editor would let you rotate the durn things!

Got out February 24. Second night/month this year, trying to get outside of the back yard as many trips as possible. Chilly night down to 11 degrees F but slept warm with 0 Wooki (and UQP) and layered down and synthetic top quilts. Set up the tarp in case of wind but slept with it folded back to reduce frost and to see the stars. Nice little one night trip. I would like to congratulate ArtGirl42, our daughter, for sleeping in her hammock every month for a year! Last night was her 12th month. She's already talking about making it 24mo's! That's my girl!

#31 for me after a backyard hang in the fully enclosed hot tent...no stove yet, so it's technically a cold tent, but I did fire up my alcohol stove and stacked up some bricks in a half hearted attempt to warm it up a bit. It was worth a try....either way, I'm batting 100%!

#31 This last weekend. Had a clear quiet night. Only the owls and coyotes to keep us company.
    Low temp 26°F

    Somewhat stealthy
