It was exciting. Would have been even more fun if I didn't have to take a leak so bad!

Hit 12 for 12 last night. It's been a pretty incredible journey, started last April- first night camping out ever with my wife of 26 years, first night ever spent in a hammock...

Learned a lot and still learning. Went low-tech last night-Youphoria hammock (found while hiking), Atlas Straps, PLUQ, CDT (unmodified) and Yukon Walkabout diamond tarp. The hammock is pretty much an ENO knockoff/clone.

It was stormy and raining, had to adjust my Yukon tarp to avoid spatter, but it didn't get too windy so I stayed dry after that.

I'll continue sleeping out as much as possible on trips but probably won't do the backyard thing just to say I did it any more. I will definitely use my backyard as my "hammock lab" to test setups and push limits, etc.

    Hang on!!

We need a 12 Month HH sticker for when you reach the goal. I'm hoping the rest of my 9 months are not in the back yard! We'll see. My first three were because I'm still getting used to the new setup so I didn't want to venture too far. I'm at a point now that I know what my gear can do given conditions though.

I did my first 6 months out in the wilds, and from October on in my back yard. My wife is VERY cold natured and just wouldn't fare well out on a trip when it's cold (40's or below) outside. I am hoping to get out on some solos this year.

Yeh, my wife has no desire to wake up and make breakfast when it's winter outside of her hammock!

3 months last night on my friends land. Won't count tonight as my April. Last night was my 11th hour March. Have April and May planned out!
