"The idea is simple, spend the night outside at least once a month. You pick the day, the location, and the gear. Take a pic and share your night out. No matter where you live one night a month for a year is guaranteed to put you and your gear through a variety of conditions. It doesn't matter if you pick the nicest day of the month to string your hammock in the back yard, the state park, or a remote wilderness area as long as you sleep a night a month for a year. This isn't intended to be a super hardcore test or anything, just a fun way to encourage everyone to get out year round and figure out what works."

6 for 6. Had a fun Klondike experience with the scouts for this month's hang. About 4 feet of snow and temperature got down to 12°F. Enjoying my new hammock.
I did find that when hanging in pines with snow you will most always need a tarp. Those boughs hold a lot of snow and they will dump at anytime whether you have a tarp or not.

I can't really get out because a baby could come any minute in my house (due in March). So I had to make a Turtledog stand to keep going! 6/6! image.jpg

I am a little late in replying, but here is my photo for my January Trip. This was part of a group that camped in Hot Springs North Carolina on Jan 22nd. I hope to get the Feb trip in this coming weekend.

I had to setup in the horse pasture last night for my February hang. I won't have time for a trip this month(thanks job), it was supposed to get into the mid 30's, and I got new Cinch bug suspension to try out.

I just wore shorts and tee shirt wanting to try my quilts. It only got into the mid 40's so I was plenty warm.

Loved the cinch bugs. Also got the sewn in clips on the tree straps. I think I'll like this combo. Maybe carry a Amstel dogbone for times when trees are really big or far.
