When I first hang my hammock I get it as tight as possible. Then I sit in my hammock and things stretch out a bit, I retighten until it is straight but not guitar string tight.

The hammock ridgeline doesn't hold much weight, titanium dutch hooks should definitely hold!

A Dutch Ridgeline Biner would be a better choice, since that is what it's designed for. The Dutch Hooks were designed for tarps. As an alternative, Dutch Whoopie Hooks could be used on a hammock ridgeline.

I wouldn't - they're not designed for weight-bearing applications but for tarps. The Dutch Ridgeline Biner is designed for this.

What Brandon says. I can turn my RL vertical, when laying in the hammock. If you tighten your suspension until the RL is straight, then loosen it , just until the RL starts to want to sag, you should be pretty close to where you need to be.
