Once again thanks for another great write up. I passed through there on 431 Wednesday, good to know there was a fellow hammocker nearby.

I've got to find out more about the Pinhoti. I had no idea there were so many lakes.

    Thanks!!

It's actually about 18 miles from where I started at 431. I hiked 431 back to Cheaha back in early June. I posted the trip report here. The view from Table Rock and visiting the Alabama high point have been highlight of my section hikes so far.

I also have a trip report from my March section where I bailed early due to a severe case of bronchitis.

I hope to connect the Cheaha SP to Porter's Gap area the weekend after Thanksgiving and Burns to the GA state line the week before Christmas. At least, that's the current plan.

Thanks for the trip reports around the south. I really appreciate you taking the time to post and give trip ideas. I live in Memphis, and it is nice to see what is doable around my area.

Thanks for the pics and report

I always enjoy your trips - you have a good eye for the photos and a great narrative style to your writing. I've been trying to get my hiking group to do the Pinhoti, but they keep wanting to do the BMT instead (decisions, decisions). Are you going to hike it all the way into GA? It might make a great group hike for a bunch of the area hikers/hangers.....
