What are your thoughts on the PU version as a material for backpacks?

I think it's a great med-duty pack material. Packs and monster bombproof tarps were the thought with the PU3000 version.

From a design standpoint, I think the coolest thing is that the breathable/DWR and PU3000 versions are the exact same color. You could have a hammock, pack, and tarp all be an exact match if you wanted.

How similar is the olive yellow of this material to the olive yellow of HyperD 1.0 and the membrane sil? And do you think there is a tape available that would adhere well to the PU side?

Also, will this fabric be available as samples?

The original lab dip match was to 1.6 HyperD OY, which should match 1.0 very closely. Because of how thin it is, the Membrane sil is harder to match perfectly, but we'll see when it comes in.

Tape will work for all these PU fabrics and I am working on getting some in-house. Any fabric aside from cuben should be available as a sample if it's in stock. Let me know if you have any trouble.

One wrinkle is that on the fabrics with multiple finishes (1.0 HD and 2.2 HEX70 XL), you'll have to specify which one you want as the sample picker doesn't list both in the dropdown at the moment.
