i think for more slippery ropes youd fine the blakes hitch would be much more benefitial

Likewise here... Hanging with a crowd this weekend and I know we will be diddling around with line at some point. I'll check a couple of types.

Tried it on my tarp with Dyna & it seemed to work fine.
Pretty cool nice new knot for me as well.
Thanks to the op for sharing.
I'm not sure I'd trust this knot. it may look like a prussic knot, but all of the wraps are between the tension points. It remains me of the first half of a taught line hitch with a slippery wrap but no tail hitch which normally acts to tighten the whole knot if it starts to slide.

I mentioned this knot last year.

I wouldn't hang on it, but it's perfect for tarps
===> Flash taught me the knot this weekend at a hang, and I used it when I put new guy lines on a new tarp I bought. I used it with a fairly slick line - "Glowwire" from Lawson Kline, and the knot held just fine in the wind and rain that night! Actually, I had purchased some MSR round line tensioners, which did NOT hold on the Glowwire! This knot held perfectly, was easy to learn and tie, was super adjustable, and undid in a split second with the slipknot.
As a tarp knot, I will be using this from now on. Wouldn't hang on it, but don't need to with my whoopies anyway.
Thanks, Ted! Awesome knot!
