    What to sleep on?

I've searched the forums but can't really find anything on this. For those of you who use a quilt inside the hammock instead of a sleeping bag, what do you sleep on? just the hammock material? or do you put something else in there as well? I'm just thinking for warm nights the nylon might get a little sweaty and its quite slippery as it is.

If I don't use my bag, I just sleep on the hammock nylon. I have heard some talk about using just a plain sheet, as well.

This is one of those "Whatever floats your boat" type questions. If I'm not wearing a base layer for a sleep system then it's just the fabric. But there are no hard and fasdt rules. Play with it to suit yourself.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Welllll.... me being a "girl".... I like to at least have on some kind of top!!! A thin silk one works best for me during the summer. Winter, I'm putting a wool top over the silk one. Then either shorts or wool bottoms. I've just discovered bamboo clothing, it does very well in hot weather!!

I usually am wearing at the least some boxer-briefs and a tee. Even in the heat of the summer, it's nice to have something wicking that moisture off of you.

The nylon of the Blackbird is comfortable enough, but I wear a baselayer because I'm one of those cold-all-the-time chicks.

Thanks guys. It's not cold in England right now but it'll probably get colder in the next few weeks. I'll be wearing base layers at night no doubt.

I tried it today with a pad inside, and boy, what a pain in the arse it was. slip sliding all over, a total waste of time. so that's not going to get used again!

I sleep on the bare hammock material...As long as an under quilt is under and around it.... What you wear is an individual preference.

I'm assuming it's an inflatable pad? Is that correct?

You can try a trick I read about in Backpacker Magazine a few years ago...

Apply pea-sized dots of urethane seam sealer (like SeamGrip brand) to the underside surface of the pad. When it sets you're left with a very grippy surface, and a pad that won't slip around on you.
Yesterday's tomorrow is tomorrow's yesterday. It's the only day that counts.
