    warbonnet ??s

trying to decide between DL 1.1 or SL 1.7, I weight now about 180lbs, max flatness is very important, I have a short thermarest pad and a JRB Mt. Washington UQ, would like to save on weight is the DL that much of an adv. for pad placement. What are your thoughts?

Also can the Mt. Washington fit into the bridge stuff sack with the hammock or is that just too much?

    Thanks

At 180lbs, I'd say take your pick. Both will be very flat. With that JRB Mt. Washington, you won't use your pad often enough for it to matter. Unless you are a very cold camper, that is.
Not sure what a 'bridge stuff sack' is, but both will not fit into the stuff sack Brandon supplies.
    Trust nobody!

From what I understand the DL 1.1 will provide some good mosquito protection from the under side where as the 1.7 will not. The 1.1 will be less airy (won't breath as much) which is good and bad - but warmer. DL will let you use a pad with ease which is really a great feature.

I'd get the 1.1 DL (mind you I own the 1.7 DL but this is likely more weight than you want to carry?)

    Just my $0.02

I use an UQ, had both a single and double BB, and ended up selling the double. I'm around 190 and found the single 1.7 plenty flat. Since you already have an UQ, there's little need to have a double bottom and a not as comfortable pad setup.

If you're camping in a mosquito-heavy area, you WILL get bit through a single layer hammock in my experience. I have a 1.1 dbl.

I weigh around 215 or so and the double 1.1 seems to be very flat. I really like the color as well. I know color shouldn't matter, but it was a factor in my decision. As east_stingray said the fact that the 1.1 is mosquito proof in the warm weather was another huge factor for me. It has been said that the 1.1 fabric is a little stickier than the 1.7, but have no personal experience with the 1.7.
