Anyone had the Bias hammock anchors snap the amsteel. Watched a u tube vid today where this happened so I'm a bit wary of trying them out being a bigger chap lol.

To me it sounds like the "bite" doesn't get secured before putting weight on the hammock. I think overtime it wears the Amsteel, which then fails. If the bite is tight and doesn't fray the Amsteel I don't think it would snap..... Even if the Amsteel does get frayed you could replace it every year. 6 ft on each side once a year is pretty cheap..... I don't personally have a set of these but am considering buying them until Dutch speed hook 2.0 is available.

I also watched a video from one of our members just starting a youtube channel on hammocks and hammock accessories and he report the HA dropped him with just a few nights of indoor use.
Too many have reported issues with this style of hammock attachment I can't believe it is all user error.
I've been using them for backpacking -- 8 or 9 overnight hangs at this point -- without any damage to the continuous loop or the amsteel connecting to the tree straps.
I've been using hammock anchors for at least 40 hangs. Only once did I notice damage where I was required to hang at a crappy angle and the distance between trees was extreme. It was my best option.. Felt it slip and immediately got out to check it. There was a bit of melted Amsteel on the anchor from the friction where it slipped. I readjusted the lines to go above that point and was fine. It seems if it isn't set really good before you use it, you may cause a problem. I was watching my lines and that was on a new length of Amsteel. Replaced the line and scraped the melted blue off the anchor. Still my go to suspension.
