0 degree Burrow or Ghost Pepper???

Hi all, looking for some input, maybe someone has fondled or used both of these fine quilts. I'm ready to drop some coin on a TQ and have it narrowed down to these two. I was pretty set on a 0 degree Burrow until I saw George's design at Loco Libre. Comparing the two as built in my shopping cart, they're within $10 or so of each other so cost isn't a deciding factor here. I'm looking for warmth of course (I'm a cold weather wuss but love Winter camping/backpacking) and a quilt with a roomy foot box, hate feeling restricted. I understand that the more airspace you have, the more air space you have to heat but if one quilt has a little more width in the foot box, it would help.
I am spec'ing them out as "long" so I can get as much coverage as possible and wide so I can use it on the ground when necessary. I'll be coupling the TQ with a 20 deg +1 Incubator in an 11 foot Dutch hammock and Ridgerunner.

The Ghost Pepper has the zig zag baffle design to prevent down shift which makes perfect sense to me.

The Burrow uses Goose down opposed to a high quality Duck down. Is the Goose down worth it? I'm not sure, this is where you all come in.

    Thoughts and/or ideas? Thanks!

I'm interested to see what people say as well. I have several quilts from HG, but Loco Libre's gear looks amazing!

Note: my 0° burrow w/ 2 oz stuffing is HOT compared to my 15° Nemo down sleeping bag. But no idea what it's like compared to an LL TQ.

Mark, I freeze in my Big Agnes 15 deg 650 fill down bag unless I'm fully clothed, that's with an insulated BA pad inserted in the bag's sleeve. Even then I have to bury my head completely in sub 20 deg weather. Looking forward to a warm night's sleep.

I don't normally post on these things b/c I have a lot of respect for the other vendors here, but I just wanted to put it out there that the end of this week LLG will be offering 850 goose down as an option, albeit at a slightly higher price point.

I've had my 0 degree HG top quilt down to -10 F and was plenty warm.

I also slept under it every day outdoors all winter here in the Mid Atlantic (NJ), never had to supplement with an extra blanket of any kind.

That was with no overstuff and a snap foot box.

Only change I'm making now, a sewn footbox and maybe some overstuff just because I'm a figure 4 sleeper and when the leg presses the quilt against the hammock, you can feel the cold.

I'm liking LL's setup and look forward to folks posting more reviews but have no plans to make a change based on performance.

Call HG and tell them what you want and that's what you'll get. ie, you want a bigger footbox, tell them how much bigger and that's what you'll get no extra charge.

As much as I know making the footbox bigger with the same amount of down will be a bit colder, I just had them add +2 so I have the room I need for my crazy legs..

I've owned 3 burrows (20°, 30° and 50°) , a flight jacket (50°), and 2 ghost peppers (35°, 50°) . I also had the pleasure of having some hands on time with the 30° Ghost pepper that George donated to the Maine Lighthouse and Lobster Hang raffle.

Currently, I'm saving up for a 0° quilt and I can tell you without a doubt it will be a Ghost Pepper. The zig zag baffles really do work. I've now got 20 something nights between the 2 ghost peppers, and the down does not shift as much as it does with traditional straight baffles.

Keep in mind, the Multicam quilt is sewn through, so the gaps by the stitching is normal.

I had the same set up and froze at 30F.. i have 0F burrow and incubator and stay toasty even around 0F. I would recommend Hammock Gear.
