We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.
Look really cool. Love to hike and hang. I'd only be good for an overnighter with my available time
You look as if you want to car camp... Which is great... Gotta find a campground that has enough room for everyone
After reading more about the ca ground in McKee Ky I have come to the conclusion that it's not going to work out for what we are wanting to do. Looks like Red River gorge is going to be the best bet. Has anyone ever stayed at Koomer ridge campground or are there any campsites that we can all get to easily so we can make it family friendly and still be able to hike if we want?

I did a day trip near there this spring. I cant remember if I hiked through that Camp Ground or not. I just dug out my map, and Koomer Ridge looks very promising as far as things to see. There is an Natural Amphitheater, Silver Mine Arch, and Hidden Arch are all near the Camp Ground. Looks like Parking and Bathrooms are close too. I have know idea about trees and Water sources though.
RRG Map 001.jpg Im not sure how well this will work, but here is my attempt to upload the map.
you did good grasshopper
'Classic.' A book which people praise and don't read.” ― Mark Twain
Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.
There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.
There is a limit of 6 people at single sites and 12 at double sites. I think if don't park at the site & you park in the hiking/backcountry parking you have to have an overnight permit.
Water and showers are not available during the "winter". I've never seen what the winter time frame is.
Another option might be the primitive camping along Tunnel Ridge Rd. There's no bathhouse or water (pit toilets only). But, there are some spots that like group camp areas.
