The main thing is to find one wide enough (~25") and long enough (full length of the RR) so it has enough width throughout the body and you aren't falling off the sides of it -- the long/wide versions, probably. You'll probably want to fill it up about half way, or less (certainly not full), and adjust from there.

There's more than one right answer, here; I compared two pads in my RR earlier this summer, and kept the Sea to Summit one. See review here: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...Hyperlite-pads I'm happy with the S2S.

I can tell you what I'm going with - but I can't tell you how well it works yet.
I bought a Klymit insulated Static V (23" x 72"). I sold it before I ever used it because it was too narrow for me. My shoulders stayed within the edges (barely) but my arms were over the edge. But, placed between the layers of the RR it felt vey comfortable. It softened the taut canvas cot feel of the RR and lessened the shoulder squeeze noticeably.
I sold the Static V and bought an insulated Luxe (30" x 76") I won't get a chance to use it until this weekend but I expect it to be very comfortable. The pad completely fills the hammock sleeve and gives me full coverage side to side and head to foot. I'm not crazy about the 35 oz weight but it is very compact.

Thermarest xterm large. Horizontal air chambers. Take the middle head end bar out and you're good to go. I find it more comfortable than using an UQ. Super warm. Deflate till you hit that sweet spot.

I have used an Xtherm large and an Exped Down Light large in mine; I prefer the Exped because it fills the space well and thre are no cold spots. Like sleeping on air. On the Xtherm the tapered bottom left cold spots. YMMV.

I picked up a Klymit Luxe insulated and have slept on it 4 nights or so. Extremely comfortable and fills the sleeve completely. As mentioned, a bit heavy, bit a really nice pad. No cold spots and no pinch anywhere. It has my recommendation for a pad RR combo.

I going to try the Therm-A-Rest Neo Air Trekker. It's 25x77, 23oz and I've heard the horizontal baffles work better than vertical. At R3, I wish it was higher but I don't want to spend "higher".

Got to spend one night with the Klymit VLuxe in the RR. Very, very comfortable - best night yet in the RR.
It got down to 39 degrees and I was starting to feel a little coolness beneath me (very light wind). I suspect it will be good to about 45 degrees for me.
