noob from PA

Hi!! I'm Jim and I live in Montgomery Co. Been tent camping for years and years, but recently "discovered" hammocking. I was browsing the interwebs looking for the latest and greatest outdoorsy stuff and stumbled on a few hammockvideos. That lead to several dozen more videos and i was off to shop for a hammock. Went to REI and bought an ENO and loved it. I felt a little exposed at first, but best sleep i've had outdoors. Last year i bought the Amok 2.0 and upgraded to the 3.0 this year. Love that thing! So, i have a lot to learn. Most things i guess will be trial and error but i'm glad i was told about this forum (REI cashier told me about MAHHA).There's so much info here i'll be reading things for months i'm sure. Looking forward to chatting and perhaps meeting some of you folks soon!!

Welcome Jim. Have fun with the research. MAHHA is a great way to see a lot of like minded people (over 100 people usually) and try out every kind of gear. Stokes State Forest will be a much smaller hang but that is this month too.

Welcome, Jim! I'm from Abington and I also have an ENO or two (3 actually) from the Conshy REI. Are you planning to attend the MAHHA next weekend?

sadly i have to work that weekend. i'd like to at least go up on friday for a while and check it out though. I bought my ENO from that REI! It's my favorite toy store!
