I'm heading into Killarney this weekend for fall colours
Wow, what a great story!
And you're still here to tell it!
We were camped at the first site East of the portage from Head to Cache.
It was right up there as one of the scariest moments I've experienced yet. But as soon as it was over, maybe 5-6 seconds total, I was snoring away. Never even heard my buddy get out of his tent to check the site. I think that is more a testament to the comfort of my hammock then to my bravery though
Lol. Glad you're okay.
I would've had to check my shorts afterwards.
Had a moose walk right into camp one day out in Algonquin. Watched it swim across the lake. It disappeared for a time and then walk right out of the water and into camp (this camp had direct access to a small beach/sand front. Must have been only 10 feet away. Looked around curiously and then shuffled back into the water.

Great thing to keep in mind! Getting run over in the middle of the woods doesn't sound like a lot of fun!
