I was wondering if anyone wanted to go to Cumberland Island. In the winter?

Oh yea won't forget that Green Swamp mileage with my monster pack, my feet hurt for a week and a half after lol! I have 5 1/2 weeks of leave to burn before January so I'm going to get some experience this season.

I'm assuming you mean the Walk-N-Water tract for Grinder's hang. The shortest in is the red, red/blue, blue and yellow to the campsite from the campground parking lot. The scenic is the blue, sugar sand and elevation changes. What we did the other time we were there was to day hike Saturday out and back to camp on the blue. It seems that we may have cut that short on a short cut trail since samsara was leading.

As of this posting, I'm going to be a maybe for Grinder's Birthday. My company is moving locations and that is the tentative weekend for the move. Since I am the first one on site every morning, I have to be involved in the move to be sure equipment is operational, how to disarm alarms, and turn on the lights, etc. I'll have a better idea if I'm hanging the week before.
does anyone have gps coordinates for the actual camp ground? I went back over my GPS tracks and I didn't mark it specifically. The trail didn't match my memory of that hike.
( it's funny how often that happens!!)
You could save a lot of hiking if you started at the trail kiosk on 630, west of lake walk in water
. I remember stopping there, but no parking lot.

Hope that you will be able to make it O-boy since it would be a new trail for you.
Grinder, checking with Google Earth I came up with coordinates of:
27°46'33'N, 81°28'36"W
The Bay Trail from 630 would be shorter and probably less confusing and on Google Earth there are 2 vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road.
