here's the map that samsara posted in 2012, the last time we hung there.
    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ght=walk+water

The route looks nothing like the brochure that old dog posted. lil ricky's map site has the entire fla trail available.

Old Dog: I have no idea how to get my Gamin to speak to Google. I remember the same fooofraaa the last time there. I just found my track in the garmin. So, I guess I'm alright. It looks (same shape) as samsara's recommended route too. Beware of the brochure, I think.

Grinder, the track I posted above on the schedule is the same track as the one Dave posted in 2012. It is just the forest service map showing all the trails in different colors. Starting from the W-in-W campground take the red trail west then south to the intersection with the blue trail. Turn west on the blue trail until the blue turns north then continue west on the yellow to the Wood Duck camp. I'll be starting the trip planning tread for this trip next week and will post as many tracks as I can find.

Grinder, checking with Google Earth I came up with coordinates of:
    27°46'33'N, 81°28'36"W
The Bay Trail from 630 would be shorter and probably less confusing and on Google Earth there are 2 vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road.

That actually is a small parking lot, I've parked there.

I'm pretty open except for a month somewhere in February and March, which is my travel month. I haven't nailed down specifics yet.

For some reason, Grinder's Birthday hang settled in my back and I'm gimping around. Must be getting old. This too shall pass.

Thanks olddog for putting this together. I'm hoping to make it to the two birthday hangs before hang con.

Folks, I've reserved online, the two sites for my birthday hang. Gator Hole Friday night and Foster Bridge for Saturday night. I did it last week, but haven't got a reply yet. The site said I would receive an E-mail confirmation. If I don't hear from them in the next few days, I will call them.

I'm interested in the Sherpa Hang. What are the logistics? Thanks.
