    Complete sleep system - 3lb 1.5oz

    Hey everyone,

I'm planning on selling my first prototype hammock as I want to build another (I got a sweet deal on alpaca insulation!). I'm only hoping to recoup my costs for the project so I'm asking $250 CAD + shipping through Canada Post (for y'all south of the border, that's about $191.65 at today's exchange rate). Included is:

    • Hammock (with insulation, bugnet, ridgeline): 769g
The hammock is made of HyperD 1.6oz, the bugnet is the amazing NS50, and the ridgeline is 250lb test spectra fishing line.
    • Suspension (15' straight length of Amsteel): 38g
Pretty self explanatory. I use the quick hitch and a tiny aluminium toggle to forgo whoopie slings which saves a little more weight and gives you TONS of tree spacing options.
    • Tree Straps (7' and 8' Kevlar with sewn loops): 121g
Really nice Kevlar straps that hold knots very well. Fun fact, these are out of my SCBA self-rescue belt (I'm a firefighter)!
    • Aluminium Toggles: 6g
For the quick hitch. You could use sticks as well, but the aluminium is nice in my opinion
    • Tarp (with all lines and pegs): 469g
The tarp is caternary-cut hexagonal SilNylon 1.1oz with LineLoc 3s for the tieouts. I have fishing line prussik loops that live on the Amsteel suspension that the tarp clips to with mini beeners. I've slept in it a few times and it really works like a charm and cuts down on excess rigging. Dead easy to set up too!

    For a grand total of 1403g or 3lb 1.5oz!

This rig is meant for spring/summer camping and has been used down to 15*C (60*C) although I think it could go a bit lower.

I can accept PayPal or credit card! Let me know if you have any questions!

Perhaps I missed it, and sorry if that is the case. You state insulation, but I didn't read anything describing that part of the setup. Also, is the bugnet a zip bugnet?

Ah right, sorry! Yes, all the detailed information is in the two links at the bottom. Insulation is synthetic and the bugnet is zippered (7' on one side, around the head end, and 3' down the other side so you can flip the net up and over the ridgeline. It works great!)

    ^^ Edit: Thanks Comet
