I probably could have posted this somewhere better here but I didn't know where, so mods if it would be better else where please move it.
I am currently just using a cheap wally-world 1" sleeping pad and a poncho liner as a top quilt and that's it for my insulation, due to this set up I am really just a 1 season hanger. So my plan was to DIY my poncho liner into a PLUQ with a sun shade slid into the middle and because I want to find something cheap, light, compact and warm just get the Costco down blanket and sewing in a foot box and use it for my top quilt.
However I then began to think if I am getting the down blanket anyway maybe I should make that the under quilt instead and just keep using my poncho liner as my top quilt as I am now.
So, I assume either way would provide me decent insulation, but my question is what way would allow me to push the temps more than the other?
