    Grand Trunk Kryptek Hammocks

    https://grandtrunk.com/kryptek/

These are pretty cool, but it's too bad they're from Grand Trunk. I wish our cottage manufacturers could get cool prints like this. I still prefer the look of the grand trunk and the enos to the single color dutchware hammocks, even though I know it's a superior hammock.

That is awesome..if it weren't grand trunk (not personally a fan of their hammocks), but this could make some others pretty happy.

I'm a complete camo junkie and the kryptek pattern is at the top of my list. Too bad it looks like they've signed an exclusivety contract with GT. Guess I'll have to just keep dreaming of a day when I can order some hyperD or polyD in the pattern.

We had one in The Elevated Movement, but after their Kickstarter meltdown (demand was SO much higher than expected and overwhelmed the owner) they've been picking up the pieces and reorganizing.

And to be fair, as far as simple gathered-end hammocks go, I don't believe in a "superior hammock." Channels on the ends, hems down the sides, and a suspension - there's nothing superior or inferior about any of 'em. There are differences, sure - length, width, suspension type...that sort of thing. Superior? If I want a simple gathered end hammock just for lounging, I'm a fan of Wildhorn Outfitters and Grand Trunk (ENO is a bit too short for me). Now camping hammocks? That's where you find good and bad - customization, options, nets, etc.

Don't knock Grand Trunk just because they're not cottage. The cottage vendors, while great, aren't the only ones out there.

Also, they definitely can license patterns (like Kryptek), but it ain't cheap. Look at the price of one of these Kryptek hammocks vs. one of their regular solid color hammocks. It's a 100% increase because the pattern has to be licensed just like Realtree or the ever-popular MultiCam.

If I would be a fan of camouflage patterns and wouldn't mind spending $100 on a simple hammock, I would totally order one. The specs actually look decent (if they are true, which hasn't been the case for a lot of my non-cottage gear) - 10'6" long, 6'6" wide, capacity 400lbs, micro-diamond ripstop... Not too bad.

I just bought one of these yesterday at a local outfitter. The kryptek pattern is what caught my eye. I got it home and before I even hanged it. I changed out the ropes for woopies. Then hung it in my basement and tried it out. It was a comfortable lay I have to say. The flat lay was really nice. This is my first encounter with GT and with the non stretch fabric they use. By the way they had it on sale for$59.

I don't get the cottage snobbery that seems to go on. GT make awesome hammocks, some of my favorites.

If it's from one of the "big guys", it's junk. Same as the big horrible Walmart, Microsoft, Amazon...all big losers with nothing to offer.

(if you missed the sarcasm, go back to bed and catch a few more hours)

After trying at least 8 different hammocks, I find my Grand Trunk single parachute to be the most comfortable...by a LONG shot. I can't explain why; it's just fabric gathered at the ends like all the others. I was on the "cottage only" bandwagon until I had to reluctantly pick up a Grand Trunk out of necessity (stupid me forgot the hammock for a trip). Certainly a blessing in disguise now that it's my goto hammock.

I get the shop local/USA/small businesses thing. You usually get more options, customization, and a lighter option. But that doesn't mean I totally write off the big guys.

Campsaver.com currently has the GT Kryptek hammock does less than $40. And if you use the 20% coupon that's advertised, it basically gives you free shipping. I'd buy one myself if I was looking for another hammock.
