I'm headed here for a weekend trip in the next few weeks. For those familiar with the area, are there any "must see" items or tips as this is my first trip.
Thanks!

Better check updates on the trail closure at Raven Point. As far as local attractions, the Dutch Maid Bakery is nearby and a great place for good food and/or baked goods.
If you're into such things, a drive through The University of the South (aka "Sewanee") might be fun.

Raven's Point Camp Site is closed now. I would suggest getting on the Friends of the South Cumberland website www.friendsofscsra.org for more information. As I understand it the trail sections are open until December and the rerout is underway. Between the waterfalls, creek, bluffs, and boulders there is something to see all along the way. Hope you have a great trip.

In case you are not aware, you must now reserve and pay for your campsite ahead of time. There is a "reservations" button on the top right corner of the www.tnstateparks.com web page. Cost is, I believe, around $6.00 a night after paying processing fees.
In the recent past it was a first come, first served situation with no costs. I found out the hard way after driving up to camp there a couple of weeks ago. I was able to register for a site at Savage Gulf on the day of arrival. None of the backcountry sites were open AND I had to drive the 40 or so minutes north to Savage Gulf because I couldn't stay at FG. My kids were super excited by the ordeal!
