18 of us gathered at Watoga State Park this weekend - the 3rd October in a row that the park has welcomed hammocks to its Riverside Campground. After a great time in this beautiful 10,000 acre park, we decided unanimously to do it again next year, and it's to be called WaHHA! (The exclamation mark is part of the name, and the accent is on the first syllable, Wa, except when you say it because you've just found a lost tent stake, in which case it's on the second.)
The weather was beautiful, if a bit crisp. The low was 33° F. Saturday and 27° F. this morning. We had nice fires both mornings and evenings with firewood provided by the park at modest cost. The raffle featured all goods donated by individuals, and it paid for our campsites, firewood, and left a nice donation for the Watoga State Park Foundation. Thanks to all!
No trees were damaged in this hang.
